P&Z votes unanimously against its dissolution

Cites omission of facts and ‘perceived punitive retaliatory actions’ by council

Springtown’s planning and zoning commission (P&Z or commission) unanimously voted in an Oct. 5 meeting to recommend against the city council’s plan to dissolve the commission.
First, though, the P&Z struggled with how – or whether – to act on two platting issues and a request for a zoning change on the agenda.
At its Sept. 28 meeting, the city council voted to remove the P&Z from the platting process and to seek the commission’s recommendation on its own dissolution.
Council members Annette Burk and Greg Hood voted their opposition to the measure.
Michele Kelley did not register a vote initially, but eventually sided with Mayor Pro Tem Dennie Harms and fellow council member Richelle Pruitt in favor of it.
