Galveston Co. natural gas decision likely to impact entities here

Some local taxing entities may be issuing some refunds after a recent Supreme Court of Texas decision.

The issue at hand is natural gas compressors and how they were taxed in the six tax years from 2012 to 2017.

According to a letter sent to all Parker County taxing entities by Parker County Appraisal District (PCAD) Chief Appraiser Larry Hammonds, there are 200 such compressors in Parker County valued at nearly $35 million.
