Cheers! Council paves way for beer, wine at certain festivals and celebrations


Have a beer or a glass of wine at an event in a city-owned park?
That’s never been a possibility – at least not legally – in Springtown.
It all changed by an action of the city council during its Sept. 28 meeting.
Now, only if a temporary permit is obtained for an event from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC), which is in turn approved by the Springtown city council, beer and wine sales and consumption will be allowed.
The measure did not have support from the full council.
