Nicholas “Nick” Lavrov Jr., passed away after a courageous battle with lung disease on Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Springtown, Texas. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that he had touched in his lifetime.
Funeral services were held on Friday, August 10 in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel. Honorary pallbearers were Gary Stricker, Carolyn Wright, Sandra Riebel and Ken Davis. Nick was born on February 7, 1960 to Nicholas Lavrov Sr., and Gertrude Fatdler Lavrov in Passaic, New Jersey. He attended the Lyndon Institute in Vermont and later graduated from Rider University in 1981. He married his soul mate, Melody Stacy-Newman on August 2, 2001 in Tom’s River, New Jersey. He was employed with Lockheed Martin for 19 years before going to work for KBR. While at KBR, he worked out of Iraq and enjoyed his time there in supporting our troops. He loved to shoot darts and sing karaoke in his spare time.
Nick was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Lavrov Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Melody Lavrov; sons, Nicholas Lavrov III and Preston “Bubba” Kemp and wife, April; daughters, Natalie Lavrov, Stephenie Stacy-Rose and husband, Bruce Thomas and Sonja Me`chelle Mitchelle and husband, Donald; grandchildren, Zachary, Morgan, Brooke, Justin and Asa; mother, Gertrude Lavrov; sister, Marena Lavrov; two nieces and his four-legged close companion Max.
