| SHS’ Burtnett commits to TCU Wednesday, June 13, 2012 Mark K. Campbell
As a future Frog tight end
Springtown junior Bryson Burtnett made a verbal commitment to play football for TCU.
The Porcupine, a two-way starter as a tight end and defensive lineman, is slotted to play offense for the Horned Frogs. For SHS, he caught four passes for four TDs last season. In 2011, Burtnett was a Second Team 5-4A All-District selection in both positions. At 6-5, 220 pounds, the Porcupine was deemed “too good to pass up” and a “hidden gem” by HornedFrogBlitz.com. Burtnett turned down offers from Rice and Texas State and several other universities contacted SHS about him.. No. 2 in his class scholastically, Burtnett also shines on the field where might also be employed as a deep snapper at TCU. |
