Current and former coaches will direct young athletes

With the start of school looming, the final two youth summer sports camps of 2018 will cap off months of drilling and learning.

First comes the annual Elite Volleyball Camp.
It’s run by a pair of successful coaches who made tours through Springtown – Julie Green and Hollie Huston.
Green, currently the head coach at Coppell, guided squads to state titles in 2011 and 2012 .
That latter team was deemed the No. 1 volleyball squad in America by MaxPreps.
Before Coppell, Green won a state championship at Lake Travis in 2010.
She was voted the ESPN National High School Volleyball Coach of the Year.
Huston has 16 years as a head volleyball coach in Texas with stops at Andrews, Elgin, Chisholm Trail, Colleyville Heritage, and Keller Fossil Ridge.
She has taken several squads to the postseason.
The Elite Camp “is a rigorous, high-intensity camp for incoming ninth-twelfth graders.”
The fee is $125 if paid by July 31 at www.metroelitevolleyball.com; it’s $10 more afterward.
The dates: Sunday, July 29, 1-4 p.m. and Monday-Tuesday, July 30-31, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
The last youth camp is football, slated for July 31-Aug. 2 at the SHS indoor facility.
The cost is $50 for the 5:30-7:30 p.m. camp for athletes entering grades 7-9.
Times are 5:30-7:30 p.m.
