It was quite the patriotic scene at Still Waters Retreat July 4.
Hosted there was an all-day celebration that benefited two local non-profits: the recently formed Springtown Area Community Connection and the Cottondale Volunteer Fire Department.

Things got underway at 7:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast.
Then, at 9:30, the Parker County Young Marines took center stage and performed a flag-retiring ceremony.
Entertainment continued throughout the day as attendees were treated to a car show, apple pie contest, fishing tournament, and dozens of vendors.
