Church Spotlight: Fundamental Baptist Church

The Springtown Fundamental Baptist Church was founded March 24, 1946.
The first meetings were held in a Springtown feed store.
The church moved into its own building in 1948. Although it has been through many renovations, this is still the building used today.
Pastor Danny Morrow recently celebrated 10 years with Fundamental Baptist; a milestone he said is something to really celebrate.
Morrow didn’t become a pastor overnight. After graduating from Azle High School, he spent 31 years in a career away from the church before he felt God calling him to serve.
One reason Danny and his wife Claudia love Fundamental Baptist Church is that it has more traditional services than most churches in the area.
The church has a choir that leads the congregation in singing hymns during each service. Claudia said this helps get people involved in the church.
“They serve by the choir,” Claudia said. “Not everyone can teach a Sunday school class or teach. A choir is a way that they can minister.”
The church does a variety of community outreach.
One of their biggest programs is the Good News Club.
Through a partnership with the Child Evangelism Fellowship, the church holds bible classes for children in Springtown Elementary.
The program happens twice a year – once in spring and again in fall, for six weeks.
The annual Vacation Bible School will be held July 22-25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The theme this year is “The Greatest Love on Earth.” All children in grades K-6 are invited.
Sunday morning bible studies are held at 9:45 followed by the main worship service at 10:50.
There is also an evening worship service Sunday night at 6.
A service is held in the middle of the week on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
