Parts of Hwy. 199 that come through Springtown will receive a facelift within the next few weeks.
Construction was supposed to begin June 18, but the start of construction has been delayed until July 9. Springtown City Administrator David Miller said TxDOT did not provide a reason for the postponement.
The $3.9 million project begins one-half mile west of the roadway’s intersection with FM 51 and runs to the Parker-Wise County line – a length of 9.11 miles.
Construction will repair base failures, resurface the roadway, and provide new pavement markings.
The project is estimated to be complete by mid-December and is not part of the larger work planned for the Hwy. 199 and FM 51 intersection and bridge replacement.
