Vera Lou Evans, 86, passed away Friday, Sept. 16, 2016.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at Friendship Cemetery.
Vera was born Jan. 7, 1930 in Fort Worth. She spent her earlier years in Fort Worth and then moved to Boyd where she graduated high school.
Vera married B.F. Hayes in 1948 and raised a family. She was a Christian woman and was raised in the Baptist church.
Vera was preceded in death by her first husband, B.F. Hayes; her second husband, Sid Evans; and son, James Hayes.
Survivors include son, Wayne Hayes and wife, Sharon; brother, Gene Autry and wife, Peggy; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.… Read the rest
Jonathan Michael O’Brien, 25, a loving son, brother, grandson and uncle passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday in Alexander’s Midway Chapel in Springtown.
Jonathan was born Dec. 12, 1990 in Dallas to Terry O’Brien and Deborah Kirkland.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Donna Kirkland and Bennie and Jean O’Brien.

Maurine was born March 28, 1928 in Ackerly to William and Rebecca Williams. She attended Springtown High School where she was an avid volleyball player and graduated in 1936. After refusing a scholarship to Baylor University, she became a dedicated employee to the U.S. Government until she retired.

Diane was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She had two half-brothers, Bill and Mike White. She first met the love of her life, Riley Verden, when she was 12 years old. Hazel Lucille Hobson, 92, passed away Sept. 15, 2016.
She was born to William Edwin and Ann Harris Johnson on Oct. 28, 1923, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Worthey Nolan Hobson.
Hazel is survived by her daughter Beverly and John Thomas Rhode; granddaughter, Michelle Fowler; and great-grandson, Tristen Patterson.

Michael William Barthel, 75, a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather went home to be with his Heavenly Father, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at home.
A memorial service is scheduled for this Saturday at 1 p.m. at Western Star Cowboy Church. Flowers will need to be delivered to the church on Saturday.
Michael was born, May 23, 1941 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Richard Charles and Juanita Piel Barthel. They both preceded him in death along with his son, Scott Barthel. He enjoyed riding his horse on trail rides and was retired from Crowley ISD where he was an HVAC Tech.

Marsha Miller, 65, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 in Ft. Worth.
A graveside service was held Monday at Springtown Cemetery.
Marsha owned and operated her own beauty shop for over 40 years. She loved her family, saw the good in everyone, and was an amazing cook. She was a fashionable lady that loved her jewelry and was quick to correct anyone with improper behavior or language.

Eva Lurlene Lane, 76, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016 in Springtown.
Service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 at White’s Funeral Chapel, Springtown. Interment to follow at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Lurlene was born Dec. 17, 1939 in Falls County to the late Oscar and Cora Downes. Lurlene was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and daughter.
