Herbert H. Carter, 87, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at White’s Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown, 76082. Interment will be at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White’s Funeral Home.
Herbert was born Oct. 17, 1928 at the family farm in Springtown to Arthur and Maude Carter. His mother picked cotton the day he was born.
Herbert graduated from Springtown High School in 1947 and Weatherford College in 1949. He was an outstanding athlete who excelled in baseball and basketball. He played college basketball and was drafted by the Pittsburg Pirates to play baseball.… Read the rest
Jose A. Nunez, 51, passed away, Friday, Aug. 12, 2016. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at noon in Alexander’s Midway Chapel, Springtown. Burial will follow the service at Jaybird Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Jose was born April 6, 1965 in Mexico to Jose and Mariea Barragan Nunez. They both preceded him in death along with two siblings, Federico and Elisa Nunez. Jason Lingle, 40, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Jason was born June 20, 1976 in Ft. Worth to Jimmy and Linda Lingle. Writing music and spending time with his family were his passions. He enjoyed playing sports, especially football and baseball, with his son and nephews. He was a member of the Agnes Baptist Church.
Jason was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include mother, Linda Lingle; daughter, Madison Burns; son, Jabin Burns; sister, Susan Lingle; brothers, Monroe Lingle, Clint Hardin; and Roger Sigmon; several nephews, nieces, and loving family.… Read the rest
Voncille Ball, 83, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016.
Services were held Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at White’s Funeral Home,
401 N. Main, Springtown.
Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Fort Worth.
Voncille was born May 2, 1933 in Loraine, Texas to James and Ollie Davis Faulkenberry. She was a member of the Eastern Star and First Methodist Church of Springtown for many years.
Voncille was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Oscar Gene Ball; son, Elton Ball and wife, Nancy; daughter, Johnna Doka; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Fran was born July 4, 1950 to Eual Rexford Gentry and Thelma Delores Verbick Gentry in Fort Worth, Texas.
Fran graduated Salutatorian from Springtown High School in 1968. An excellent artist and an avid sports fan, she enjoyed drawing, watching major league sports, and fishing with her husband. Funeral was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Garvin Cemetery. Family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Rev. Veronica Greanead officiated. Pallbearers included Larry Forman, Charlie French, Doug Munson, Jerry Pewitt, Matthew Webster, and Nick Pewitt. Honorary Pallbearers included Ryan Webster and Kyle Pewitt.

Billy D. Carter, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016 at a Justin area care center.
Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Altamesa Church of Christ, 4600 Altamesa Blvd. in Ft. Worth.
Bill was born in Hood County, the youngest of 10 children on a family farm. He married Rolina Priddy in 1951 in Fort Worth. They raised four children during their 29 years of marriage. The business he built, BD Carter Construction Company, built apartment complexes all over the DFW area during the 1970’s.

Paul Wayne Allison, 69, a loving father, brother and grandfather, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016.

Paul was born May 26, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa to Glen Harold and Garnette Lee Ward Allison.

Benjamin Franklin Maple, 90, a loving and faithful husband, father and grandfather, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, July 29, 2016 at home, surrounded by those that loved him.

Benjamin was born Aug. 24, 1925 to Delbert and Ann Marie Maple. They both preceded him in death along with a brother, Joe: daughter, Donna and sister, Nandel. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a retired truck driver.

Shawn was born Feb. 17, 1998 to Gloria and Brian Brown. He went to Springtown High School. He was an avid fan of basketball, football, Pokémon, magic, and bacon.
