Evelyn Stone Russell, 92, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2016.
Graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Monday in Annis Chapel Cemetery in Springtown. Visitation was from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at White’s Azle Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle, 76020.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, James and Josephine Stone; husband of 46 years, Tech Sgt. Charles Russell; and daughter, Sharon Brown.
Survivors include her children, Elaine Gill, Dowden Brown and Jennifer Brown; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Roy E. Stone.

Willis B. Welch, Jr. 62, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at White’s Azle Chapel. Interment is at Springtown Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White’s Azle Funeral Home.
Willis was born June 12, 1954 in Azle to Willis Welch, Sr. and Eunice Rhoten Welch. He graduated from Riverside High School, attended TCC and TCU studying music. Willis loved to play the piano. He got to meet Van Cliburn at one of his concerts and even got to go back stage and talk to him. Madgie Cooper, 72, a loving mother, sister and grandmother passed away, Friday, Nov. 11, 2016 at home surrounded by those who love her.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Dec. 3, 2016 at Northwest Church of Christ, 6059 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth.
Madgie was born Nov. 26, 1943 in Portales, New Mexico to Asa and Vivian Inman Sanders. They both preceded her in death along with siblings, E.A. Sanders, Nancy Griffith and Ray Sanders.

Robert Lee Funcannon, 66 of Paradise, Texas passed away Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 at his home in Paradise.

Robert was born Feb. 20, 1950 in Lafayette, Indiana to Robert L. Funcannon and Vera (Von Kannon) Funcannon. He earned a BS degree in English where he developed a lifelong love of words. He was a paralegal and salesman for Cargill before finding his avocation and vocation in the field of organic farming. Susan Lesko Sandeman-Pariente, 59, passed away, Friday, Nov. 18, 2016.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday in Alexander’s Midway Chapel, Springtown. Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial is at Oxford Water Cemetery, Wise County.
Susan was born Dec. 24, 1956 in France to Arthur William Lesko and Mary Lee Bailey Lesko.
Susan graduated from Cal State Long Beach with a BSN and a BS JD from Western State College Law School.
Susan’s mother preceded her in death.

LaVerne Hamman, 70, a loving mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully, Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 in Decatur.

Billy was born Feb. 11, 1935 in Boyd to the late James and Mattie Wilson. He married the love of his life, Gayle Watson, on Dec. 8, 1956, and together they raised five sons. He resided in Fort Worth for most of his life and was a devoted Baptist.

Bob Avery of Springtown passed away peacefully surrounded in love by his family Monday, Nov. 14, 2016 on his 77th birthday due to complications of pneumonia.
A memorial will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 at First United Methodist Church in Springtown, with a visitation at 10 a.m. and the service to follow at 11a.m. All are welcome to attend. Memorials can be donated to First United Methodist Church in Springtown’s snack pack ministry.

Gayle was born July 22, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska to Hayes A. and Lois I. Olson Lyle. They both preceded her in death along with a sister, Judith Wilson.

Betty Henson Jennings, 87, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, a Christian lady of great character who had a zest for living.
Betty was born Sept. 27, 1929 in Chillicothe to Claude Herman and Ora Alice Henson. After spending much of her childhood in Fayetteville, Arkansas, she graduated from Winslow (Arizona) High School in 1947.
She attended Northern Idaho College of Education in Lewiston, and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad in Winslow and Phoenix before enrolling at Abilene Christian College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1953.… Read the rest
